In March of this year I had the opportunity to organise and speak at a conference on behalf of St. Barnabas Bible School in Cyprus. The aim of the conference was to help the church here in Larnaca to examine the issues of marriage, sex, and gender from a biblical perspective.
The assault on God’s pattern for these things is well underway in many western countries. It is a little further behind in Cyprus, simply because of a lingering social conservatism in some areas (though not in others). The aim of the conference was to help the churches put down some solid biblical roots down, so that the fruitful tree of a biblical understanding of sex etc. can be defended from a position of strength.
This is my talk from the event examining how many of the lifeless ideologies we see around us stem from a rejection of the foundational command to ‘be fruitful and multiply’.
